About Second Crew
Second Crew exists because every owner I've ever met is doing three jobs.
I'm PJ Farnham. I've spent twelve years inside growing companies building the systems that keep them running — hiring engines, onboarding, the unglamorous operational machinery that decides whether a business runs smoothly or bleeds money quietly. I've been the first operations hire more than once, walking into companies where everything urgent was getting done and everything important was falling through the cracks.
Then I started paying attention to the small businesses around me — my barber, my gym, the sub shop, the shops on Main Street. Same problem, no help coming. The owner cuts hair AND answers the phone AND chases no-shows AND posts the job ad AND means to respond to that Google review from last month. The work that leaks money isn't hard work. It's the work nobody has hands for.
Big companies solve this by hiring more people. Small businesses can't. But the tools big companies use to automate this work finally got good enough — and cheap enough — for a five-person shop. What's missing isn't the technology. It's someone to set it up, run it, and be accountable for it.
That's the job. That's Second Crew.
We're not an agency selling you campaigns, and we're not a software company handing you another login. We set up the systems, we run them, and every month you get a report in plain language: calls recovered, bookings saved, reviews answered, applicants screened. If it's not earning its keep, you cancel — no contracts, no hard feelings.
Your first crew does the work only they can do. We handle the rest.

How we work
- Real results, not dashboards
- You'll never log into a tool. You get a plain-English report once a month showing what was done and what it recovered. Outcomes, not interfaces.
- Cancel anytime means we earn it every month
- No contracts, no lock-in. Every crew has to prove its value each month. If it stops working, you stop paying — no hard feelings.
- If we can't find savings in the audit, we say so
- We don't sell you crews you don't need. The $250 audit either finds real leaks or we tell you honestly that you're running tight.
- Human-accountable, AI-powered
- Systems do the repetitive work. A real person monitors, tunes, and reports. You always know who to call.
